ACTIVITIES
The activities of the CCMS include:
- Methodological advice to define research project designs
- Organization of study data in tandem with project managers
- Statistical support for project managers
- Collaboration with external scientists working in fields of mutual interest
- Providing statistical editing support for scientific publications
- Monitoring, editing and updating data management procedures according to international recommendations
- Teaching courses in statistics for healthcare researchers
- Developing and researching statistical methodology of practical relevance to healthcare research
Prof. Stephen Senn (MSc, PhD, CStat) is Head of the CCMS.
As of year-end 2011, CCMS had supported 34 studies during the year (23 of which were in collaboration with the CES). Types of projects included:
- Public health studies investigating health indicators within the Luxembourgish population
- Public health studies based on administrative data
- Observational epidemiological studies
- Interventional epidemiological studies
- Preclinical and clinical studies (including randomized clinical trials)
- Assistance with preclinical study data analysis (proof of principle) for for various laboratories within CRP-Santé
- Collaboration as statistician members of various data-safety monitoring boards
- Various ongoing small projects in collaboration with the pharmaceutical industry
