Description:
It is well established that tumors arise as a result of an acquired genomic instability and the subsequent evolution of clonal populations of neoplastic cells. The pattern and behaviour of distinct genomically aberrant clones may underlie multiple molecular phenotypes in a variety of cancers including glioblastoma. A novel technological strategy combining flowcytometric sorting based on DNA content with high resolution array comparative genomic hybridization will be presented.  Preliminary results on glioblastoma biopsies and the interest of this emerging technology for the analysis of cancer genomes will be discussed. The work results from a collaboration with M. Barrett (TGen/TD2, Scottsdale, US).
