2011 - 02 - 16 CRP-Santé delegation to the US
From January 6 to 13, 2011 the Minister of Health, Mr Mars di Bartolomeo has visited a series of hospitals in the US, followed by a delegation of medical doctors and experts in the field of healthcare. This delegation included several members of CRP-Santé: Mr Frank Gansen, Chairman, Dr. Jean-Claude Schmit, CEO, Dr. Anna Chioti, Head of the Clinical and Epidemiological Investigation Center and Dr. Guy Berchem, Head of the Experimental Hemato-Oncology laboratory.

The delegation has visited:
- The Mayo Clinic in Rochester MN, in order to identify fields for future collaborations such as quality processes, evidence-based clinical practice and medical information systems for patients,
- Kaiser Permanente , Oakland CA, to discuss prevention, online access for patients and members to their health recoreds, e-health management, innovation and cost management..
- Children’s Hospital, Seattle, WA where they attended a presentation on a “Continuous Performance Improvement Initiative”
The delegation has also visited institutions highly experimented in research and scientific training such as:
- The Seattle Science Foundation, Seattle, WA . This non-profit organization is specialized in training, video conferences within the field of cardio-vascular surgery and neuro-surgery
- The Institute for Systems Biology, Seattle, WA with focus on personalized medicine, potential applications of genetic testing.
Finally, the delegation has discussed potential collaborations with private companies such as WaferGen Biosystems, Complete Genomics, Hewlett-Packard Corporation and Oracle Corporation.
