2011 - 04 - 08 Habilitation à diriger les recherches awarded to Bassam Janji

In March 25, 2011 Bassam Janji, research scientist at the Laboratory of Experimental Hematology-Oncology CRP-Santé, received the highest French diploma, the "Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches" from the university of Paris XI.

The defense was held at the "Institut de Cancérologie Gustave Roussy" in Paris in the presence of an examining board composed by Professor Eric Solary, Director of the Institute for Integrated Cancer Research, as President, Professor Jean Feunteun, Deputy Director of Research at the "Institut de Cancéologie Gustave Roussy", Professor Thierry Arnould, Director of the Cell Biology and  Biochemistry Unit of the "Facultés Universitaires Notre Dame de la Paix" in Namur, Belgium, Dr Simone Niclou, Head of the Norlux Neuro-Oncology Laboratory at CRP-Santé, Luxembourg and Dr. Fathia Mami-Chouaib, Research Director at INSERM U753.

The members of examining board highlight the outstanding career path and the scientific maturity of Dr. Janji. They also appreciated the applicant's ability to supervise PhD students, to set up research programs, obtain funding and undertake its research programs, knowing collaborate with other teams. The members of examining board concluded that Dr. Bassam Janji is worthy to receive the "Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches" from the University Paris XI.
