2011 - 02 - 07 Lung cancer conference

CRP-Santé, the Integrated Biobank of Luxembourg (IBBL)  and the Partnership for Personalized Medicine (PPM) have organized on February 11-12, the 2011 Luxembourg Lung Cancer Conference – Lung Cancer Treatment in the Era Of Personalized Medicine Conference at Novotel Hotel Kirchberg, with an opening ceremony in the presence of Mr Mars di Bartolomeo, Minister of Health and Mr Jeannot Krecké, Minister of the Economy and Foreign Trade.

Lung cancer remains one of the most challenging areas of cancer research. Despite years of research for new treatments, the survival rate of lung cancer remains one of the lowest of all cancers.At the dawn of personalized healthcare, huge hopes rest upon new strategies capable of better selecting patients for targeted drugs as well as on new strategies capable of interfering with the molecular mechanisms of this disease. The objective of this scientific meeting was to bring together in Luxembourg some of the world leaders in lung cancer to discuss recent advances and to explore new avenues for research. A press conference was organized on Thursday February 10, 2011 in the presence of Dr. Guy Berchem, Partnership for Personalized Medicine (PPM) – CRP-Santé and Dr. Dicato, Fondation Recherche Cancer et Maladies du sang.
