Immunology Department

The Department of Immunology works in affiliation with CRP-Santé and the Laboratoire National de Santé (LNS).

Departmental fields of interest range from basic research to contract R&D and focus on 4 major areas of interest:

  • Immunology and genetic/antigenetic diversity of old and new emerging human and animal viruses
  • Development of immune-preventive strategies against infectious agents and environmental risk factors, such as carcinogens
  • Crosstalk between the immune system and the neuroendocrine system involved in the stress response (eg, HPA axis and glucocorticoid receptor)
  • Perinatal programming and epigenetics of the immune system and stress response genes

The Department of Immunology is one of worldwide 3 WHO Collaborating Centres for Reference and Research on Measles Infections and WHO Regional Reference Centre for Measles and Rubella responsible for 22 European countries.
