Allergic and immune diseases are a major health problem for hundreds of millions of people worldwide.
The aim of the Laboratory of Immunogenetics and Allergology (LIGA) is to strengthen its skills in applied research, to develop competitive basic research and to create an optimal environment for improved diagnosis, prevention and treatment of patients with allergic and immune-mediated diseases. Research is being performed in close collaboration with the national unit of Immunology and Allergology at the CHL.
PRESENTATION
Historically the research unit was born with the help of third party funding, the parents being the clinical unit and the laboratory of Immunology and Allergology of the CHL. Thanks to the modest but continuous support of CRP-Santé, research activities grew continuously over the next fifteen years while relying on the infrastructure of the routine laboratory at the CHL.
Since 2003 there is an important increase in research activities made possible by a financial support becoming substantial, originating to an important part from the Fonds National de la Recherche.
During this period took place a relocation of the laboratory of Immunogenetics and Allergology (LIGA) with different other CRP-Santé research units at the BAM I modular building and a definite integration into the CRP-Santé organization.
